01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Start with a plate of egg rolled around a generous amount of dashi. Dashimaki tamago is listed on the menu and has been recommended by diners who have visited more than once. One reviewer noted how much dashi it contained; another recalled ordering it partway through a meal and finding it exceptional. You could begin with this dish, then choose a few small plates to go with your drink.
One diner paired simmered taro and warm okara with a measure of sake, taking time to enjoy the cooked dishes and drink. Okara is also on the menu, alongside other simmered dishes such as nikujaga and hiro-us, as well as kinpira gobo. For a lighter bite, there is potato salad, pickled Chinese cabbage or salami. Beer and other alcoholic drinks are available, so you can choose small plates to suit your drink.
Graffiti left by visitors on the walls and shoji screens is part of the scene here. The traditional izakaya atmosphere invites you to settle in for food and drinks. The restaurant is closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and open Thursday through Sunday from 17:00 to 22:00. Payment is cash only, so it is best to bring cash with you.
